Education Coordinator
Jennifer Urban was hired by the Chase Foundation in July of 2015, coming from the Artesia Public Schools as a Math Teacher. Jennifer grew up in Upstate New York where she made her way to LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY to play volleyball and attain her undergraduate degree in Mathematics with a minor in Education.
After graduating she moved to the greater Washington D.C. metro area where she spent the next 13 years teaching and coaching. She was fortunate to earn a Masters degree in Education from George Mason University, during these years.
After a short stint in Las Cruces, NM she met her husband Matt. The golf course industry brought Matt and Jennifer to the Artesia area where they fell in love with Southwest hospitality, the delicious New Mexican cuisine and plentiful sunshine.
Family on the east coast has Jennifer, currently, living outside of Southeast NM and working remotely with the Chase Scholars. She enjoys her tri-annual returns to New Mexico and being able to stop and visit scholars at campuses outside of the regular mid-semester touring route.
When not working you’ll most likely find Jennifer enjoying one, or more, of the following: exploring a new town, enjoying nature, hanging with family, playing pickleball, baking something sweet, nose in a good book, indulging on a piece of dark chocolate and/or sipping a strong cup of coffee.
